Celebration of Hope 2005

Date: Sunday, October 30, 2005
Time: 12:00 PM
Location: Meadow Farm/Crump Park

Celebration of Hope, the first major fund-raising event of the Brain Tumor Resource and Information Network, managed to raise over $42,000 for Brain Tumor research. October 30th was a glorious, warm, sunny day. In addition to the 3k fund-raising walk, Susan Greenbaum and Janet Martin performed live music. There were activities for children, merchandise and food vendors, horse and carriage rides, a roaming magician, a caricature artist, clowns, dancers, Richmond Olympiads, and much more. The VCU Life Evac helicopter even arrived for a demonstration landing just as the event began. With the help of 120 fantastic volunteers orchestrating the activites, the afternoon was a great way for family and friends to spend time together.

More than 1,000 people attended the event, many of whom have been affected by the disease in some way. It was a wonderful opportunity to talk and share experiences with one another. The hope, care, and passion of the event will not be forgotten.
